Muay Thai Kick Boxer Strengthens Sports and Leisure Destination Complex in Thailand
The fight to be established as Asia’s top international sports facility just became more rigourous as Phuket International Academy Sports and Leisure Club (PIASLC) has selected former Muay Thai champion “Thanootong’’ Prasert Intanoo to manage the martial arts program at the new Phuket, Thailand sports centre. Just as muay thai boxing demands perseverance and expertise, the selection is just one more example of the PIASLC recruiting top specialists to staff the emerging extensive facility and help position it as the first choice sports and leisure destination in Asia.
The Phuket International Academy Sports and Leisure Club (PIASLC) complex has programmes attractive to just about anyone including Olympic class athletes, residents, visitors and children. Aquatics, running, rugby, football (soccer), strength training, tennis and much more are on offer already or arriving soon at what is emerging as the standard as a regional destination for sports, arts and wellness in Thailand and Asia, and perhaps the world.
The PIASLCis organized into specialized sports academies. The new appointmentof Prasert Intanoo should push the Martial Arts Academy to international attention. The PIA Aquatics Academy and the Football Academy have already established themselves as premier programmes. BSS is based upon Futebol de Salao (FDS). The training and game is characterized as a 5-a-side version of football originally from South America. FDS is played with a smaller (size 2), and slightly heavier (465gm) ball that has virtually no bounce to it. Now Muay Thai joins the top-rated youth soccer training programme available at the top-rated sports and recreation complex in Southeast Asia.
Former Thailand national flyweight champion Khun Prasert was a Muay Thai professional boxer for 15 years with an impressive 70 wins to his name. He graduated from university with a degree in physical education. He went on to work for the Marriott hospitality group as a Muay Thai instructor, and in his role as Recreation Supervisor managed wellness, corporate teambuilding and kid’s zone activities. Khun “Nok” (his Thai nickname) is also a qualified Pilates teacher and personal trainer and certified by the Thai Yoga Institute as a teacher.
The PIASLC is part of the Phuket International Academy (PIA). PIA is a revolutionary sports, education, arts and wellness facility sited in Phuket, Thailand.
